I have two beautiful boys diagnosed with ASC and associated conditions. We love attending BEE UNIQUE sessions as a family. Everyone is so lovely, whether it is your first session or 50+ attended sessions, we all help and support each other. BEE UNIQUE have helped us a family unit to fight to get my boy into a specialist school in which he is thriving and words can’t describe how grateful I am. We as a family can’t thank BEE UNIQUE enough for all the help and support over this time. Co-Founders Dave & Nadia go above and beyond to support us with EHCP meetings / tribunal, all round their own SEN boys and professions. BEE UNIQUE would like to WELCOME to the team Lisa Moses who will be assisting us with bringing BEE UNIQUE services to Carlisle
Lisa says:
Hi, my name is Lisa Moses and I am 43 years of age. I am a single parent to 3 gorgeous boys, Kurtis aged 22, Harley aged 7 and Freddie aged 5.
Harley and Freddie both have Autism. Freddie is still waiting to be officially diagnosed and is on the pathway of an ADHD diagnosis. Both my boys attend a specialist school, James Rennie in Carlisle which they absolutely love.
My three boys mean the world to me and having seen the world from being a parent of a neurotypical child to having children with additional needs made me open my eyes and see the world in a whole different light. It is thanks to my beautiful boys, they have taught me so much more in such a short space of time. They truly amaze me every day and make me immensely proud of just the way they are, beautiful on the inside and beautiful on the outside.
When BEE UNIQUE was first launched, I attended the free activities organised at the Founders Home in West Cumbria, Workington. The founders were welcoming and created a safe space for families like mine to enjoy time together in a non judgemental environment with the mission to grow the SEND Community in other areas. I was delighted to become a BEE UNIQUE representative! I have volunteered for BEE UNIQUE for four years now. I wanted somewhere inclusive in my local area, for children like mine to attend without being judged or sneered at. The sessions organised are all set in a relaxing environment where everyone can be themselves.
It’s been an incredible four years so far! So much has been achieved in such a short time and I am really proud of how the community in Carlisle has grown.
Outside of volunteering for BEE UNIQUE, we like to go for family walks to the park and holidays by the sea, mostly visiting Berwick with it being the boys favourite place to visit. They love to splash in the sea and hear their echoes in the caves. We love venturing to Blackpool for short breaks. We really enjoy the simple pleasures that life brings our way.
It’s been a pleasure meeting Families at the exclusive BEE UNIQUE activities along with the Carlisle Support Group Coffee Mornings. We look forward meeting those who have not yet joined us.
LUCY WILTSHIRE
LANCASTER AREA REP

Read more about Lucy
BEE UNIQUE would like to welcome to the team LUCY WILTSHIRE who will be assisting with organising a support group and exclusive activities and in Lancaster.
Lucy says:
My name is Lucy and I am delighted to be a BEE UNIQUE representative. I enjoy helping more SEND families access leisure activities in the area. It’s really tricky finding places that work for us as a family; and even more difficult when the venue is busy during holidays and weekends. So we try and arrange quieter, more relaxed sessions for families, giving them a better chance of being able to have some time out of the house together.
I am a teacher and have two daughters; our eldest is autistic. I am very grateful to BEE UNIQUE! I really enjoy meeting other families and chatting to people who ‘get it’, even though we often have very different experiences, there is always common ground and it helps to be somewhere without judgement and with kind faces.
Please come along to our BEE UNIQUE support group for a brew – even if you’ve never been to a BEE UNIQUE activity before, you are very welcome.
The BEE UNIQUE activities and support group are all uploaded via the BEE UNIQUE Bookwhen:

BEE UNIQUE would like to welcome to the team, Hayley Annie Moffatt!
Hayley says:
My name is Hayley Annie Moffatt and I’m a mummy to two beautiful children. My daughter Ophelia has Autism and is pre-verbal and attends a specialist school.
I am delighted to help and support BEE UNIQUE in their venture. BEE UNIQUE made a huge difference to my family. The Founders supported us immensly with my daughter being awarded a place at a specialist setting. If anyone is struggling with the appeals process, please contact BEE UNIQUE. The Founders Dave & Nadia have been through the appeal process many times and can give you so much help and advice and everything is kept confidential. They will fight for your children like their own. We have attended lots of BEE UNIQUE exclusive sessions as a family.
I wanted to give back to BEE UNIQUE by volunteering my time. I believe by organising day trips specifically for SEN families, it will aid families who are unable to drive or don’t feel comfortable taking their children on public transport. It opens up a whole new world for them to experience different places in an environment they are comfortable in.
There is a big wide world out there and our children still deserve to experience these types of days out with no judgment
Having worked in the travel industry for 10 years, I have experience when it comes to organising days out. Arranging return coach trips gives even more support to families and provides new experiences to enjoy quality family time together.
I am delighted that the Return Coach Trips have gone from strength to strength and we have returned to different venues across the UK on numerous occasions. I am excited to to look at different attractions for us to spend the day at! I look forward to welcoming you all, seeing you and your family having a fabulous outing together.

BEE UNIQUE would like to welcome to the team, Becca Monkhouse!
Becca says:
I have worked since 2022 as a Full-Time Nursery SENCO, before this I worked as a Nursery Practitioner and SENCO. I have had experience of supporting families to understand the Graduated Approach, with EHC Assessments, holding EHCP reviews, making referrals to other professionals, completing specialist placement forms, and supporting parents with DLA forms. I hold Level 3 SENCO Award, Diploma of Higher Education in Early Years Education and Development and Level 2 and 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
It is my passion to support families who have children with S.E.N.D to get the right support they need and to abide by BEE UNIQUE’s ethos, which is “you are not alone”. It is a great charity to meet others and exchange advice.
To me there is no greater gift than watching a child thrive with the right support in place. I’ve witnessed parents go through so much stress fighting for what their child/children deserve and I hope to continue to ease that battle.

BEE UNIQUE would like to welcome aboard KATY WINTER who will be leading and coaching BEE UNIQUE Superstars.
BEE UNIQUE set up BEE UNIQUE Superstars in July 2024 with our wonderful dancers taking part in the Carneigie, Workington, the very first SEN Category they had implemented and we were delighted medals and certificates were presented to the incredible Superstars by the Mayor & Mayoress of Workington Town. They have since took part in numerous performances winning awards.
Katy says:
I am proud of each and every person who helps make BEE UNIQUE what it is. These volunteers are relentless when it comes to providing safe exciting happy occasions for all. I see on a weekly basis that this outstanding charity provides a happy open place of friendship support and understanding for all involved. I am delighted and honoured to be leading the BEE UNIQUE superstar sessions every Wednesday held in Workington, they are an absolute joy!
Since my first event appearance as wonder woman a few years ago, I have watched these children as individuals and their parents grow and progress with help from BEE UNIQUE. This is a fantastic thing for their self esteem… to feel like part of a group where everyone is accepted for who they are and embraced, also an opportunity for parents to come together share experiences and generally be there for one another. All involved work extremely hard behind the scenes, fundraising to provide events where there is a massive range of brilliant activities/entertainment/outings and so much more for parents/children to be a part of. It all takes time planning and a heap of dedication. BEE UNIQUE really is helping a lot of people and I am so proud to be part of it.
I have taken part in festivals since I was 3 years old. I travelled up and down the country doing festivals with my dance schools and represented Workington, Cumbria in Miss Dance of Great Britain as a soloist when I was 18 . I got down to the last 6 out of 50 in the country in the final held at the Winter Gardens Blackpool. One of many happy memories!
I was delighted when BEE UNIQUE approached me to coach the children. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the response it has got. We now have a waiting list! I have been teaching children and adults of all abilities since I was 14 years old and I am very experienced in building confidence and nurturing the positive benefits that come from any dance class, it is something I am extremely passionate about.
I have taught in a list of different places to name a few; Stage Coach Wigan/ Lakeland Studio of Dance and Performing Arts/Studio 9/Local schools of West Cumbria.
I am here to coach with providing fun learning and progressing with each individual being their unique little self and their own individual achievements which all come in different shapes, speeds and sizes for everyone and all should be celebrated and will be!
When I left dance college in Preston, I returned to Maryport to be with family and worked as a PA to a lady with cerebral palsy (non verbal) for 6 years, this is where I picked up my skills for unspoken communication.
I have been learning sign language for 12 months now which comes in extremely handy everyday.
My own little boy was born with a cleft lip and palate. With my sons hearing issues, I understand how and when to listen when a child needs to speak about something.
I am super proud of all the superstars and look forward to showing everyone their amazing abilities

Read more about Pamela
BEE UNIQUE would like to welcome aboard PAMELA MORRIS to the BEE UNIQUE SUPERSTARS TEAM
Pamela says:
Hi, My name is Pamela and I am honoured to be part of BEE UNIQUE Superstars. It is an amazing group that has grown from strength to strength. It has helped a lot of families out there with their children fulfilling their wishes of doing a relaxed fun filled hour of dance and even getting to perform in front of an audience. Its an inclusive session and my little girl is very shy and struggles with crowds and new faces but with this class being so relaxed, she absolutely loves it!
And myself as a parent, I am living my dream of helping out to sort costumes which is kindly funded by BEE UNIQUE, and coming up with various hairstyles and makeup for the dancers on the performance days. I am always looking for ways to fundraise for the group and assisting with new ideas.
The Superstars Dance group has changed lives for the better. Since the group launched in July 2024, the children’s confidence have blossomed. The children work so hard to learn their dance routines on the weekly training sessions, and then to perform in front of an audience is just incredible! We are all so proud of all the children.
The superstars group have achieved so much in such a short space of time. With the Dance Coach Katy winning an outstanding achievement Trophy and the superstars being awarded with medals and certificates. The Superstars came joint 1st Place in the Cumberland Dance Festival. Fantastic feedback was provided. We have been made to feel very welcome and its an honour for us as parents and our children, to show the audience what amazing Superstars they are!
